Three boys soccer regional quarterfinal games postponed due to weather

By Anthony Chiang

Rain forced athletic directors from around the area to make tough decisions on Thursday.

Three boys soccer regional quarterfinal games were postponed as a result. Due to inclement weather and “dangerous conditions,” Jupiter’s home playoff game against Haines City-Ridge Community, Atlantic’s home playoff game against South Fork, and Martin County’s home playoff game against Forest Hill have been pushed back. Each of the contests were originally scheduled to be played on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Instead, Jupiter and Atlantic will play their games on Friday at 7 p.m. Martin County and Forest Hill are still trying to determine a new date and time for their game.

“If we played, it would be a slip-and-slide,” Jupiter athletics director Michael DeLeonardo said.

Basketball was also affected by the rain. Both of the District 12-2A semifinal games scheduled to be played on Thursday at Berean Christian were moved to a different location because of a leak in the gym. The games were played at Atlantic Christian.
