Pope John Paul to host lacrosse tourney this weekend

Pope John Paul II High School will host the second annual Catholic Schools Lacrosse Invitational today and Saturday.

Eight Catholic high school boys varsity lacrosse teams from around the state are scheduled to participate. Games will be played at Pope John Paul, 4001 N. Military Trail, Boca Raton, and at Patch Reef Park, 2000 West Yamato Road, Boca Raton.

Participating teams include Pope John Paul, Cardinal Newman, Fort Lauderdale-Cardinal Gibbons, Miami-Belen Jesuit, Sarasota-Cardinal Mooney, Southwest Ranches-Archbishop McCarthy and Fort Pierce-John Carroll.

Games will be played from 4:30-9 p.m. Friday at Pope John Paul and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Patch Reef Park. Admission for Friday’s games is $5 for adults. Children 12 and under are free. Saturday games are free.
