Boys Basketball: Boca F Coleman Ellingsworth commits to Berry College

By Jodie Wagner

Boca Raton power forward Coleman Ellingsworth committed to play college basketball at Division III Berry College Tuesday night.

The 6-foot-8 senior averaged 7.7 points per game and a team-leading 7.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks for the Bobcats last season.

He chose Berry, in Mount Berry, Ga., over a handful of other Division III schools and Division I American University, where he was offered a preferred walk-on position, said Max Spinner, his high school coach.

“Coleman has been a tireless worker, making himself a very good varsity basketball player in his senior year,” Spinner said. “He was an amazing leader by example for our whole program, and his best basketball days will be in the years to come at Berry College.”

Ellingsworth is the second Boca Raton player in two years to play college basketball. Forward Max McKee just completed his first season at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
