Former Wellington center Steven Coulanges has signed to play basketball at West Hills Community College in Coalinga, Calif., Wolverines coach Matt Colin announced Tuesday.

Coulanges, 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds, averaged eight points, six rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game as a senior last season. He was named to the Palm Beach County All-Conference second team and selected to play in the “We Got Game” All-Star game in March.

Coulanges is the third student-athlete from the 2013-14 Wolverines boys basketball team to sign with a college.

The others are forward Clandell Cetoute with Thiel College in Greenville, Penn., and point guard Gerry Milligan with Presentation College in Aberdeen, S.D.

“Steven is a big-bodied center who is very skilled,” Colin said. “He has very good footwork, runs the floor well and plays as a true post with his back to the basket.”

West Hills College competes in the Central Valley Conference in California. The Falcons have qualified for the playoffs nine out of the past 13 seasons and reached the state quarterfinals in 2007.
