Palm Beach Lakes provided the perfect ending to a historic girls basketball season in Palm Beach County.
The Rams defeated Apopka-Wekiva in the Class 7A final to win their first girls basketball state title in school history. It wasn’t even that close, as Lakes never trailed in the second half and led by as much as 21 in the fourth quarter.

After four days, only one Palm Beach County girls basketball team remains.
Boca Raton was the only local team to take The Lakeland Center court on Friday, falling to Miami in a Class 8A state semifinal. The Bobcats could not find a way to stop Stingarees 6-foot-4 center Beatrice Mompremier.
The Bobcats’ loss leaves Palm Beach Lakes as the only team left in the state tournament. The Rams will play for the Class 7A state title on Saturday morning.

Are you feeling cold in South Florida?
Well, it’s a frosty 36 degrees in Lakeland right now. It’s a miracle that my fingers have thawed out in time for me write this blog post.
