Recruiting: Dwyer QB Toddy Centeio decommits from Miami Hurricanes

Even when Toddy Centeio verbally committed to Miami in December, he said “there’s a chance” he would stick with the Hurricanes.

That ambiguous answer should have been a sign that the 2017 Dwyer quarterback would eventually open his recruiting process back up. Centeio pulled the trigger Friday evening, announcing on Twitter that he had decommitted from the Hurricanes. [More]

2016 Big Board breakdown: No. 1, Ahmmon Richards

Each weekday leading up to the start of spring practice, we have released a new player from the top 10 of our Class of 2016 Big Board, breaking down each player’s game with an interactive graphic. Today, we’ve reached the top spot with Ahmmon Richards, a wide receiver at Wellington.

A tough receiver with tremendous athletic ability, Richards can make plays all over the field and isn’t afraid to catch the ball in traffic. While his offensive numbers were exceptional, he’s also an excellent defensive player who recorded five interceptions last season.

Each weekday leading up to the start of spring practice, we’ll release a new player from the top 10 of our Class of 2016 Big Board and break down his game with an interactive graphic. Today, it’s No. 2, Zach McCloud, a linebacker at Santaluces.

This guy is a flat-out playmaker. He’s stellar against the run and he can cover backs and tight ends, too. But McCloud does his best work when he’s able to square up and hit somebody. You won’t find many linebackers who hit harder than McCloud.

Each weekday leading up to the start of spring practice, we’ll release a new player from the top 10 of our Class of 2016 Big Board and break down his game with an interactive graphic. Today, it’s No. 3, Devin Studstill, a defensive back at Palm Beach Gardens.

A hard-hitting safety with tremendous athleticism, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Studstill has drawn plenty of attention from college scouts. He’s expected to play a key role on defense next season for the Gators, who graduated standout linebacker Tevon Coney.

Each weekday leading up to the start of spring practice, we’ll release a new player from the top 10 of our Class of 2016 Big Board and break down his game with an interactive graphic. Today, it’s No. 5, Devin Singletary, a running back at American Heritage.

Singletary was a key part of American Heritage’s prolific offense last season. A durable back who has speed and strength, the 5-foot-9, 195-pound junior averaged 10.7 yards per carry in 2014 and also scored 15 rushing touchdowns.

Burnett was a bright spot on both sides of the ball for Pahokee last season. The UM commit has tremendous speed and quickness, and can make defenders miss in space. He’s also a good receiver out of the backfield.
