Atlantic High’s signing ceremony began late, but it was for a good reason.

Shelton Johnson was still trying to decide between Michigan and Florida State, so Eagles coach Tavarius Jackson pulled the four-star recruit into a room.

“It was something we sat down and talked about,” Jackson said. “That’s why it took us so long to come in. He was a nervous wreck.”

After their discussion, Jackson and Johnson walked into Atlantic High’s media center 20 minutes late Wednesday. But the 6-foot-5 Eagles defensive end had made up his mind, choosing Michigan in front a crowd full of teammates, coaches, family and media. [More]

It was only fitting Louisville commit Lamar Jackson entered his signing ceremony with a Florida backpack.

The Boynton Beach quarterback spent the past few days going back and forth between the Gators and the Cardinals.

“Florida coaches were blowing my phone up,” Jackson said. “I had to really sit down and think about it and talk to my mom about it.”

But in the end, Jackson stuck with his commitment and signed with Louisville in a ceremony held at Boynton Beach High on Wednesday. Along with Louisville and Florida, Jackson also considered Miami and Mississippi State.

“It went down to the wire,” Jackson said. [More]
