Florida Atlantic continued its recruiting success in Palm Beach County.
American Heritage linebacker Lawrence Graham verbally committed to the Owls on Wednesday. The two-star recruit chose FAU over schools like Army and Colorado State.
“I just really appreciate everything FAU has to offer me,” Graham said. “It’s right in my backyard.”
The 5-foot-10, 214 pound Graham became the first Palm Beach County player to join FAU’s 2016 recruiting class. But if his commitment sticks, he would join the six county players who were part of the Owls’ 2015 recruiting class under head coach Charlie Partridge.

The day-long, 48-team, 7-on-7 event hosted by UM was also an opportunity for Wellington receiver Ahmmon Richards to meet St. Thomas Aquinas counterpart Sam Bruce, for linebackers Greg Simmons (Fort Pierce Central) and Zach McCloud (Santaluces) to hang with Shaq Quarterman, who made the trip down from the Orlando area even though his team, Oakleaf High, wasn’t involved.

Even when Toddy Centeio verbally committed to Miami in December, he said “there’s a chance” he would stick with the Hurricanes.
That ambiguous answer should have been a sign that the 2017 Dwyer quarterback would eventually open his recruiting process back up. Centeio pulled the trigger Friday evening, announcing on Twitter that he had decommitted from the Hurricanes. [More]

Each weekday leading up to the start of spring practice, we have released a new player from the top 10 of our Class of 2016 Big Board, breaking down each player’s game with an interactive graphic. Today, we’ve reached the top spot with Ahmmon Richards, a wide receiver at Wellington.
A tough receiver with tremendous athletic ability, Richards can make plays all over the field and isn’t afraid to catch the ball in traffic. While his offensive numbers were exceptional, he’s also an excellent defensive player who recorded five interceptions last season.
