American Heritage — Nick Rubinowicz. An All-Area First Team punter/kicker for the Stallions’ football team, he also maintained a 4.81 honors-point average and earned an AP Scholar with Honor award. He will play football at the University of Maryland.
Benjamin — Savannah Logan. A multi-sport athlete who set a school record by earning 19 varsity letters, she also was a member of the National Honor Society and Cum Laude Society, maintained a 4.09 honors-point average, and took nine advanced placement courses. She will play volleyball at Rider University.

Mosquitoes nipped at Cre’Von LeBlanc’s calves and arms as he told his story in the Belle Glade night. He was a junior defensive back at Glades Central, and he’d watched his father pass away right in front of him eight months earlier. The practice field around us was empty, save for the mosquitoes so large and hungry I’d questioned my decision to move to South Florida to cover high school sports and college recruiting for the Palm Beach Post.
