The 2015 Major League Baseball Draft finally came to a close Wednesday.
After 1,215 total picks over 40 rounds and three days, nine high school players from Palm Beach County were drafted. Six of the players were selected Wednesday.
Over the first two days, three Palm Beach County high school players had been drafted headlined by Royal Palm Beach pitcher Triston McKenzie and Park Vista pitcher Austin Smith, who were both selected on Day 1 of the draft Monday. (Read more about Day 1 here) [More]

The second day of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft brought more good news to Palm Beach County.
A pair of local high school pitchers were drafted on the first day, as Royal Palm Beach right-hander Triston McKenzie was taken by the Cleveland Indians with the 42nd overall pick in the Competitive Balance Round A and Park Vista right-hander Austin Smith was taken by the San Diego Padres with the 51st overall pick in the second round of the draft Monday. A Palm Beach County school could not bring home a state baseball title this season.
But one local team did finish the year in Theprepzone.com state baseball poll’s All-Classification rankings, as Park Vista came in at No. 4 on the list. The Cobras’ season ended with a loss to top-ranked Miami Columbus in a Class 8A state semifinal on May 20. [More]
