Florida Atlantic continued its recruiting success in Palm Beach County.
American Heritage linebacker Lawrence Graham verbally committed to the Owls on Wednesday. The two-star recruit chose FAU over schools like Army and Colorado State.
“I just really appreciate everything FAU has to offer me,” Graham said. “It’s right in my backyard.”
The 5-foot-10, 214 pound Graham became the first Palm Beach County player to join FAU’s 2016 recruiting class. But if his commitment sticks, he would join the six county players who were part of the Owls’ 2015 recruiting class under head coach Charlie Partridge.

After the University of Buffalo made a late decision to withdraw its scholarship offer to him just before National Signing Day (Feb. 4), Ward was left without a school to commit to. So, the Post’s 2014 Small Schools Defensive Player of the Year made it a daily habit to call college coaches to check if any still had room left in their recruiting class.
“I can’t even count how many schools we called,” Ward said. “We called every one that we could. All of the Division I-AA schools I called were full, so I thought the chances of going to a Division I school were slim.” [More]
