It’s about to become a very busy couple of weeks in the already busy life of Anquan Boldin.
Sunday night, the Pahokee native and wide receiver for the Baltimore Ravens will be among eight people inducted into the Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame. The next day Boldin and All-Pro wideout Larry Fitzgerald will leave for a week-long trip to Ethiopia, which is being ravaged by drought and famine. A few weeks later, Boldin will hold his eighth annual Q-Fest to raise money for Pahokee.

It didn’t take William Likely long to make his mark on the 2011 season.
On the first play of Glades Central’s much-hyped Labor Day game against Dwyer, Likely ran back the kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown. He added a spectacular 45-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter that made ESPN SportsCenter’s top 10 plays of the day. [More]

I was out in Pahokee earlier this month and went across the street from the school to survey the new stadium. It looks pretty nice so far, though it still doesn’t appear to have the seating capacity it will need for big games against Atlantic, Dwyer and Glades Central (the Raiders’ first visit will be the 2010 Muck Bowl).
