A former Glades Central High School co-athletic director has been charged with grand theft and fraud for allegedly falsifying official records that allowed him to pocket sports supplement money from the school district.
Henry Cook Jr., 40, of Riviera Beach, is accused of fraudulently asking for and receiving $6,550 in supplements in 2008 for coaching swimming and flag football, though Glades Central doesn’t have a swim team and the school’s actual flag football coach that season told police he never received money from Cook.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The charges against former Benjamin School student-athlete Sam Faria were reduced from felony battery and adjudication was withheld after he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery in June 2010. Faria was sentenced to community service for the charges related to a 2009 incident with an assistant football coach.
Sam Faria, a former Benjamin football player, is scheduled to begin his trial May 24th, the State Attorney’s Office said. He is accused of punching former assistant coach Thomas Flynn in the face and breaking his nose.
