Severe wind and tornado warnings ended the Louie Bing Classic in Miami one event early over the weekend, and while everyone’s times weren’t necessarily impressive because of the weather, the results were for a few members of Palm Beach Lakes’ track team. Twenty-four girls teams and 28 boys teams from mostly Broward and Dade Counties were represented at the meet.

Palm Beach Lakes is going into its game against Dwyer a little banged up. The biggest blow comes from losing senior wide receiver/defensive back Eddie Lovett for six weeks with a broken arm. Lovett came down hard after a hit against Suncoast last Friday. Lakes coach Alonzo Jefferson said the Rams were hopeful they would get Lovett back in time for the playoffs if they make it, which at this point seems fairly likely. The Rams are trying out juniors Tommy Lee Lewis, Emarkis Gunn, and Javonte Simon as replacements.
