Pahokee, Atlantic ready to break in Anquan Boldin Stadium

Neither Atlantic nor Pahokee was able to schedule a spring game, so it has been months since their players hit anyone else on another team. Couple that with the fact that Pahokee is opening a brand-new stadium and it will produce a raucous atmosphere for Friday’s game.

That won’t be a problem for either side.

The curious case of Pahokeeā€™s Raheam Buxton, a Miami commit

Pahokee senior Raheam Buxton’s career with the Blue Devils has been marked by injury, ineligibility, immaturity, a major position change and a lot of time on the bench.

And now, before he has put together even one solid season, Buxton has a scholarship offer to the University of Miami. Buxton was on the brink of announcing his intent to play for the Hurricanes last week, but canceled those plans in order to visit the campus again. Blue Devils coach Blaze Thompson said today Buxton committed to Miami over the weekend.

Zachary Allen, Donnell Kirkwood and Fred Pickett commit

At least two of the area’s top 25 football players committed to colleges recently, and possibly a third.

Pahokee linebacker Zachary Allen was on the brink of announcing his commitment to Wake Forest toward the end of the school year, but canceled the news conference when teammate

Merrill “Bud” Noel wavered on his decision to make the same commitment. Noel wound up changing his mind and picking Florida State, but Allen held firm and recently gave Wake Forest an oral commitment.
