Palm Beach County produced three girls basketball players players who earned first team All-State honors in their respective classes.
The Florida Association of Basketball Coaches/SourceHoops All-State Teams were released this week, listing Palm Beach Lakes guard Kayla Thigpen and Lake Worth guard Jonika Garvin on the Class 7A first team. [More]

Palm Beach Lakes provided the perfect ending to a historic girls basketball season in Palm Beach County.
The Rams defeated Apopka-Wekiva in the Class 7A final to win their first girls basketball state title in school history. It wasn’t even that close, as Lakes never trailed in the second half and led by as much as 21 in the fourth quarter.

Are you feeling cold in South Florida?
Well, it’s a frosty 36 degrees in Lakeland right now. It’s a miracle that my fingers have thawed out in time for me write this blog post.
Anyway, Thursday was another up-and-down day for Palm Beach County. Grandview Prep’s run at back-to-back state titles came to an end in a loss to Tallahassee-FAMU in the Class 2A state final, but Palm Beach Lakes’ season continued with a win over Fort Myers in a Class 7A state semifinal. [More]

A record four teams from Palm Beach County have earned trips to Lakeland for this week’s girls basketball state tournament. Grandview Prep (2A), Cardinal Newman (4A), Palm Beach Lakes (7A) and Boca Raton (8A) will represent the area in the tourney. [More]

Palm Beach County still has a chance to send a girls basketball team to Lakeland in five out of the eight classes.
Boca Raton (8A), Palm Beach Lakes (7A), Cardinal Newman (4A), Oxbridge Academy (3A), Atlantic Christian (2A) and Grandview Prep (2A) are all still alive entering the regional finals. Palm Beach Lakes and Grandview Prep have a chance to make it back to the state tournament after earning a trip to Lakeland last season.

The girls basketball regional tournament is about to begin and 14 teams from Palm Beach County are still alive.
There are plenty of storylines to keep an eye on. Will Palm Beach Lakes make it back to Lakeland? Can Grandview Prep defend its Class 2A title? Is Oxbridge Academy ready to make a deep playoff run behind Crystal Primm?

The regular season is over and district tournaments begin this week.
We have one more Top 10 to release, though. It’s no surprise that Palm Beach Lakes is still at the top of the list, as the Rams enter the playoffs as the favorite to win the District 13-7A tournament.
Boca Raton is not far behind, though. The Bobcats closed the regular season at No. 2 after an impressive win over Oxbridge Academy last week. The Bobcats are the top seed in the District 10-8A tournament.
