In late March, Seminole Ridge coach Matt Dickmann experienced a wide range of thoughts. The Palm Beach County football schedules had just been released, and Dickmann’s Hawks — fresh off a run to the Class 6A regional finals — had a loaded schedule.

LOXAHATCHEE — A noticeably giddy Seminole Ridge team took to its practice field under the cloud cover at 7:45 this morning. Not only was it relatively cool and the start of a new football season, but the sand bunker that used to be Ridge’s practice field had become a lush green over the summer. Seminole Ridge coach Matt Dickmann even painted a giant “S” in the middle of it, reminiscent of a Stanford or Michigan State logo.

Orlando-Dr. Phillips announced today that it would forfeit its entire 2010 football season after a full investigation by Orange County Public Schools revealed that Dr. Phillips had used a player living outside of its district. The FHSAA will accept the forfeits.
