Admittedly, this will be an incomplete list. There is no way to catch every single game and newspapers don’t record thorough defensive stats or linemen grades, but here are some of the performances that stood out from games I saw either in person and on DVD, read about in the paper or based on information I got from school staff.

Neither Atlantic nor Pahokee was able to schedule a spring game, so it has been months since their players hit anyone else on another team. Couple that with the fact that Pahokee is opening a brand-new stadium and it will produce a raucous atmosphere for Friday’s game.

At least two of the area’s top 25 football players committed to colleges recently, and possibly a third.
Pahokee linebacker Zachary Allen was on the brink of announcing his commitment to Wake Forest toward the end of the school year, but canceled the news conference when teammate
Merrill “Bud” Noel wavered on his decision to make the same commitment. Noel wound up changing his mind and picking Florida State, but Allen held firm and recently gave Wake Forest an oral commitment.

Pahokee defensive back Merrill Noel gave an oral commitment to Florida State, Blue Devils coach Blaze Thompson said.
If both players uphold their pledge, Noel will join Pahokee wide receiver De’Joshua Johnson with the Seminoles.
Noel is 5-foot-10, 170 pounds and ranked No. 14 on the Big Board.
