Signing Day 2016: Miami’s Mark Richt sweeps Palm Beach’s top players in first recruiting class

Miami coach Mark Richt has only been at the Hurricanes’ helm for two months, but he’s got recruiting Palm Beach County down. The top three players in the county will all be on his roster when Miami opens the season on against Florida A&M on Sept. 3.

Ahmmon Richards, the No. 1 player on the PBGametime Big Board, committed to Miami during Wellington’s signing ceremony on Wednesday.

Less dramatically, No. 2 Zach McCloud enrolled early and No. 3 Travis Homer signed his National Letter of Intent early Wednesday morning after being committed since June.

Recruiting: Oxbridge Academy’s Travis Homer sticking with Miami Hurricanes despite struggles

Despite the Hurricanes’ 34-23 loss to Cincinnati on Thursday and rumors swirling around head coach Al Golden’s future, Oxbridge Academy’s Travis Homer is still firmly committed to Miami.

“I’m pretty committed,” the running back said Friday.

Homer, a three-star recruit who committed to the Hurricanes on May 31, said he hopes Golden keeps his job. Many Miami fans do not feel the same, and some have even paid for anti-Al Golden banners to fly over the stadium during Hurricanes games.
