With every signing ceremony, there must come at least a little theatrics…
At Pahokee, De’Joshua Johnson dug something Tennessee orange out of a box and tossed it over his shoulder before pulling out a Florida State hat and putting it on, Raheam Buxton threw a Miami hat into the crowd at the auditorium before donning a Western Michigan hat (Miami pulled its offer to him), and Chris Dunkley announced he was looking forward to the next THREE years at Florida.
Dunkley obviously has big plans for himself at Florida and beyond.

The University of Miami was the first school to identify Pahokee safety Raheam Buxton as a BCS prospect, doing so before Buxton had ever established any kind of reputation on the field, but Buxton has not heard from the Hurricanes recently.

Prior to Friday night’s game against Cardinal Newman, Pahokee will hold a pre-game ceremony in remembrance of Norman “Pooh” Griffith. Sunday will mark the one-year anniversary of Griffith’s death.

Neither Atlantic nor Pahokee was able to schedule a spring game, so it has been months since their players hit anyone else on another team. Couple that with the fact that Pahokee is opening a brand-new stadium and it will produce a raucous atmosphere for Friday’s game.
That won’t be a problem for either side.

Some rival fans laughed at Miami when the Hurricanes gambled by offering Pahokee safety Raheam Buxton, who saw little playing time last season, a scholarship in May. Apparently, Purdue and Tennessee did not think it was funny.

Pahokee senior Raheam Buxton’s career with the Blue Devils has been marked by injury, ineligibility, immaturity, a major position change and a lot of time on the bench.
And now, before he has put together even one solid season, Buxton has a scholarship offer to the University of Miami. Buxton was on the brink of announcing his intent to play for the Hurricanes last week, but canceled those plans in order to visit the campus again. Blue Devils coach Blaze Thompson said today Buxton committed to Miami over the weekend.
