Football: Dwyer-Glades Central will play on ESPN on Labor Day

After refusing for months to confirm that Dwyer and Glades Central’s highly anticipated Week 1 game would be televised, ESPN finally and officially announced that Dwyer will play at Glades Central at 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 5, on ESPN.

The Post first reported that the game could be televised in June, but ESPN refused to confirm that the game would be broadcast.


Practice notes from the Glades, Seminole Ridge and Palm Beach Central

LOXAHATCHEE — A noticeably giddy Seminole Ridge team took to its practice field under the cloud cover at 7:45 this morning. Not only was it relatively cool and the start of a new football season, but the sand bunker that used to be Ridge’s practice field had become a lush green over the summer. Seminole Ridge coach Matt Dickmann even painted a giant “S” in the middle of it, reminiscent of a Stanford or Michigan State logo.

The rumors about Glades Day quarterback Tanner Redish moving to Glades Central flew as far back as October and November. On Thursday, the rising senior made it a reality.

“I’m officially a Raider and enrolled at Glades Central,” the 6-foot-2 Redish said in a text message.
