Triston McKenzie has made his decision.
The former Royal Palm Beach pitcher will forgo college baseball to play on the professional level. McKenzie signed with the Cleveland Indians for $2,302,500, according to MLB.com, which is currently the largest signing bonus for a right-handed high school pitcher this year. The 2015 Major League Baseball Draft finally came to a close Wednesday.
After 1,215 total picks over 40 rounds and three days, nine high school players from Palm Beach County were drafted. Six of the players were selected Wednesday.
Over the first two days, three Palm Beach County high school players had been drafted headlined by Royal Palm Beach pitcher Triston McKenzie and Park Vista pitcher Austin Smith, who were both selected on Day 1 of the draft Monday. (Read more about Day 1 here) [More]

A Palm Beach County school could not bring home a state baseball title this season.
But one local team did finish the year in Theprepzone.com state baseball poll’s All-Classification rankings, as Park Vista came in at No. 4 on the list. The Cobras’ season ended with a loss to top-ranked Miami Columbus in a Class 8A state semifinal on May 20. [More]

Park Vista is living up to expectations.
The Cobras entered the season with high expectations and they have met them so far. Park Vista hasn’t dropped a game since falling to Coral-Springs-Taravella in the season opener. Since then, the Cobras have outscored opponents by a combined score of 103-22 to stay at No. 1.
